Did they build the motor really loose?

No it was spec for 0042. So only.0002 looser then stock is my understanding. Still seems like a lot of consumption for that. I just had the head reconditioned rather then built, new guides/seals and one valve was bent and got replaced, all others were checked out fine apparently but im starting to wonder if something got missed there, or if the the consumption is coing formt he bottom end. Thinking I need to do a comp and leak down at this point and contact the builder. I dont know what the average consuption rate is on a sleaved motor.

You've been needing to do that since you got that motor. And get a new engine wiring harness, lol.

I hate being dependant on other people to do shit to this car. That’s the problem with these two specific issues.

My $.02 I now use Amsoil instead of Mobile 1 because of E85. Mobile 1 was perfectly fine with pump gas but when I started to use E85, I noticed the oil started to degrade in quality and smelled like alcohol because of the break down. Mobile 1, Shell Rotella, Brad Penn will all be good oils to use but not sure how they hold up against E85.

10/30. I think 20/50 is too thick and may actually starve your engine of lubrication due to the small oil passages and tight tolerances. If you could find a 5/50 race oil and your FI where higher temps are reached and or tracking the car, then that I might consider. 5 to 10/40 is typically the go to for those applications though.

For those of you with built/sleeved engines, I don’t know how many of you DD yours like mine, but curious what weight oil you use and what your consumption rate is? As mentioned mine so far i'm seeing 1q of usage of 10/30 at about 2,700 miles with Castrol. It was almost 3 times that with Mobil 1

It was recommended to me from my engine builder to not run Syn for the first 6-10 k miles. I'm at 5 k miles now.

Sounds like you need to do a leakdown test pronto to find out where the problem is. I don't think 1 quart of usage is horrible for ~3k miles, especially if you're beating on it hard, but that's definitely higher than "normal." I don't see why a sleeved motor should burn/consume any more oil than a non-sleeved motor. I know some people have problems with sleeved blocks where the coolant could mix with oil, but that's a different problem..
