I agree, or even the standard as the synthetic won't make much difference to most. I have also have good luck with Mobile 0w-40 Synthetic (European Blend).

Brad Penn, Motul, Redline....... in general are just overpriced, paying for the name. Just remember there are only a few major manufacturers in the country so truly there are only a few choices. The difference is in the additives, and as long as you are comparing apples to apples the difference is small.

Amsoil 10w40 here. Been happy so far. No consumption issues at all.

Having an oil cooler installed as made a HUGE difference in oil consumption for me and I'm still using the most "hated" oil on S2ki, same oil I have since I bought the car 7 years ago: Mobil 1 10w30

I plan on making an oil cooler setup as well, up in the air about which heat ex-changer to use. I'm running Amsoil 10w-30 racing oil.

Ive got 5k on my built/sleeve low comp motor now. There was a sale on some standard non syn Mobil 1 10/30. I burned 1q per 1k miles with that crap. Switched to standard Castrol 10/30 and just went through 1q in 2700 miles so that's a hell of a difference. Thinking I might give the 5/40 Rotilla shot and see if I can reduce consumption further.
