Default Oil Pressure Logs?

I posted a thread here earlier about some potentially odd oil pressure behavior: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...ilter-1204534/

But I got to looking into some of my AEM Infinity data logs and my new oil pressure readings may not seem quite so crazy. On a data log from back in July with the stock filter, oil pressure was bouncing around 15 or so psi at a steady cruise, now with a bigger filter relocated I'm seeing more like 20psi fluctuations while cruising. Does anyone have a log to compare? Since I can't upload the log files to the forum, here's the link to the AEM forums where I uploaded them: https://www.aemelectronics.com/forum...e-log-look-you

You may just need to bump up the signal filtering.

If you are worried about the actual pressure, you need to put a analog pressure gauge on it and compare results.

What size hose did you use on your filter relocation?

I thought about the signal filtering. It is currently set at 50%, so maybe I'll give that a try.

-10an hose and fittings. When I called Improved Racing to talk to them about this, the guy there said that I might need to step up to 12an due to the massive volume our oil pump flows. I've only seen people using 10an on S2000s though.

Personally, I used -12AN on my setup which was partially driven by having to use a tight 90deg elbow fitting. So I needed a 'big' fitting to reduce the pressure drop in a sharp 90deg fitting as opposed to a long bend radius fitting. -10AN is probably okay if you are using nice bend radius fittings. It does seem odd to me your pressure readings are fluctuating that greatly. I recall mine staying more in a +/- 3psi range.

So it's likely either one of two things: faulty sensor reading (electrical or mechanical to the install of the sensor) or actual oil pressure is fluctuating that greatly which could mean an oil pump/pickup issue.

This oil pump has like 250 miles on it, so I wouldn't think it is the issue. I'm starting to lean toward it being just a sensor placement/reading issue from moving the filter.

Just to eliminate the possibility, have you checked your oil level?

Yes. I timed this install to be when I needed to change oil, checked the next day and the oil level is still full too.

For reference, mine is bumped up to 80% and I take my reading where the stock pressure sensor use to be.
