man i know tapping the girdle is going to be the best bet but i heard tapping the oil pan in the front (by the crank pulley) upper driverside of the pan works good too? is it possible to tap the girdle with engine still in the car?

Yes, you can tap the girdle very easily with the engine in the car. The front of the pan, like you described, is a good spot too from what I've heard if you want to go that route.

When the first time i went turbo.. i tapped the pan right under neath the turbo.. smoked..

2nd time i turboed i tapped it on the front right where IP does theirs... no more smoke..
