Oil Squirter Debate!

At this "debate".
Scary to see so many people think they should be removed though. I've got 4 removed right in front of me right now.....but they are next to the destroyed motor they shoulda been in.
Anyone want to buy some squirters now that you've learned you need em? $20 bucks shipped.

If you take them out of the factory motor that is still using the factory forged rotating assembly, than yes removing them is dumb, but if you are on aftermarket forged stuff there isn't a problem when removing them IMHO....
We can debate this ALL day, and won't ever get to a conclusive answer on weather or not they will make or break your engine. I like the function of the squirters don't get me wrong and I wouldn't ever remove them, but you guys can't come in here and preach the gospel that its "dumb" to have them removed.... There are thousands of B and F series engines out there with blocked off squirters that run fine......

I disagree. The stock internals are already forged, people say forged stuff doesn't need em, those same people might want to try running a wheel with 4 lug nuts instead of all 5 because "hey it might last".
Look the matter is simple, if your pistons are already running quite hot, near the point of a problem they WILL save your motor by lowering the temps a bit. IF your pistons are already running quite cool then they'll just make them run a little cooler. Why run the risk of it? There's no gains to be had by removing them, just like there's no gains to be had by removing a lug nut.
It is just plain stupid to remove them. There's no benefit but there's a potential problem, why would you gamble for no gains?
Plus they also better lube the wrist pin, which is simply good practice.
If oil pressure is a problem then boost oil pressure, there's enough ways to do this.

It went boom and the rod punched 2 holes through the side of the block.
This shouldn't even be a debate:
<<<<Removing Squirters >>>>
Gains: NONE (don't say oil pressure)
Losses: POTENTIALLY DESTROYED MOTOR
Why would anyone opt for this mod?
<<<<Removing lug nut from wheel>>>>
Gains: NONE (don't say rotational weight)
Losses: POTENTIAL FOR WHEEL TO BEND OR FALL OFF
Why would anyone aopt for this mod?
If you're going to say oil pressure, give me a break, again you can boost oil pressure in other ways and let me ask WHY do you THINK you need more oil pressure? Curious to see what answers people are going to say on this one if they try.
Class dismissed.

some after market piston side skirts are longer then stock so ethir you bend them out of the way or take them out... on my last honda engine cp pistons didnt clear the squirters... also cp said i didnt need them oem piston does not cool down as fast as aftermarket pistons, since different material... honda engines have plenty of oil presure so not sure why its a mod to build oil pressure, you could simple due the oil pump spring mod to build way more oil pressure... think its mainly done for pistons with bigger sides then oem.
Yea, sometimes you have to do some trimming, that's correct. CP saying they do or don't cool down as fast is a bit silly, a material that cools faster also heats up faster thus it's just as much at risk (possibly more) but withstanding higher temps may be another story.
You're correct about the oil pressure, there's lots already. The pump mod is exactly what my thoughts are for people who want more pressure.
I'm running CP pistons so trimming is needed.

^ No, but stay tuned, I got a turbo motor without em. If the pistons melt we can certainly say "oil squirters could have made the difference". Hopefully we won't get to that point.
how much power you going for? do plan put the squirters back in? when i bent mine for my last set up they looked britle after that so i chose to block them, was worrie they would crack cuase issues!
