S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Opinions on what should go into a built head.

Really? At what rpm do the valves generally start to float...9,500? 10,500?

I have seen several stock f20c's that were floating valves completely stock

There is no real reason to sleeve the block unless you just want a bigger bore. FRM is more than strong enough.

Is your motor a 2 liter or a 2.2? If its a 2.2 the -7cc Mahle pistons are a great choice with e83, you'll have around 10.3:1 compression. If its a 2liter you'd be down around 9.5:1. If you take 0.020 off the head and use a stock headgasket you'll be back up in the 10.5:1 range.
So are you saying if I need to bore the standard FRM stuff, I have to go with sleeves? Like I said, I only have light scuffing but I want it gone to start clean. Yes, my motor is a 2.2. Where did you get your pistons from?

Passmans2kny, where did you get pistons from? Also, will the weiscos work with the FRM cylinders?

Also, I'm getting prices for the ferrea stuff.
My engine builder got them for me, i will ask him where he orders from tomorrow

So what are the stock spring rates? What rates would you suggest I go with? I'm thinking I'd still be happy with the supertech stuff and the lowest spring rate I think they have is 80lbs. Would that be ok?

I finished getting the block out tonight. The bay looks so lonely. I can't wait to get this over with.

I don't know what they are, but you want a higher spring rate to control your valves at higher rpm, not a weaker spring. I've been through 2 f20's and my current f22 all revving to 9K of course and never had or heard of valve floating tendencies with the f20/22 motors. I wouldn't be surprised to see the stock f22 valvetrain handle 10k rpm. But if your digging in, might as well upgrade it all, assuming there are actual "upgrades" available. I hate spending money on performance names to get less performance over stock.

I dont have any of the dyno charts uploaded, but on alot of ap1's you will see the graph get all jagged and inconsistent above 8000 rpms.. thats from there not being enough seat pressure.. It's probably more a valve bounce issue than a valve float issue.

leave your engine completely stock, put some springs/retainers in there and you'll be amazed at how much smoother the engine is at high rpms.

Stock s2000 valve springs are single springs, thats why you have to change the spring seats when you do upgrade to aftermarket springs/retainers.

The standard supertech stuff is around 95lb's on the seat if I remember right.. at least thats what mine were. It will vary to some degree with install height.
