I agree with many of the other posters; put your thermostat back in, bleed the system, and ensure that your AEM temp table is calibrated correctly (otherwise, the temp will read higher than it should).

you definitely need a thermostat water takes longer to dissipate heat than air if it flows to fast there's no temp differential and you will overheat faster have seen it with my own eyes when i was young like 18 i had a nova with a big block and i though no thermostat would cool it better the car ran 200f i put a 160f thermostat in and it ran175f all day just my personal experience and the air dam is a must and or a vented hood i picked up a vis for 350$ with 8 vents and it made a huge difference since i have a large air to water cooler my car use to run hotter on highway than idle after hood its the other way now my 2 cents

I'm his brother. His car had a thermostat and it was overheating. We tryed everything stated above and the last resourt was to delete the thermostat. We tryed that and the car overheated the same. The only difference the deleted thermostat made was the car took longer to warm up

is there oil in the coolant or vice versa sounds like a head gasket. was the coolant changed often? could be the water pump possibly does the car have to much timing pulled that can make a car run hot have you guys tried running no hood to see if its air flow or mechanical

no there is no oil in the coolant. there is no coolant or oil leaks. The car does not burn and coolant or oil. the car does not smoke. Compression is 240psi in all 4 cylinders. The car is not down on power and it makes great power for the kind of setup it is. My brothers car is tuned by a big profeshional Honda turner here in socal, so I would think that the fuel and timing would be good. No we have not ran the car with no hood. That would be a bad idea here in los angeles due to the many cops everywhere.

The car is on the stock engine and it does have 170k miles. can and do the water pumps go bad??

The car had a stock radiator and the problem was the same so we got a full blow aluminum radiator for it and its the same. Then we got rid of the stock fans for the mishimoto fans and fan shroud and its still overheats on freeway drivers the same. Then we got rid of the valve in the thermostat and its still the same. We then even custom made a big front mount 19 row oil cooler and its still the same. Were running out of cooling mods and ideas here.

my setup is in my signature and the only read different is that I run a tubular track forged manifold. If anything my car should over heat worse but my car does not over heat at all.

I have not read through the entire thread. Are you using the correct coolant temperature settings in the AEM EMS? You're welcome to send your cal to me and I will check it out for you.
