Over heating problem Please help
I just wanted to add my opinion to this based on some testing i done with the mishimoto fan shroud
I had one high performance spal fan and one slim one with a total output of 2400cfm. Cooling wise it was okay but without a proper shroud it wasn't cooling as well as i would of hoped. I purchased the mishimoto shroud knowing that the claims they make of their fans producing 1150cfm each are exaggerated to say the least.
I done some testing and found that the fan doesn't pull the rated power stated and if anything it's far less powerful than the OEM fans.
In fact with my aem ecu connected to my laptop i can see that the fans can only keep the car at 88c at idle and wont cool it any further. Where as with the spal fans i could easily hit 86c where the fans would switch off. The shroud is very good but the fans are dire IMO. I'm not surprised you guys struggle with overheating and poor air conditioning performance.
A company in the UK supplies fans that are pretty much identical in terms of sizes and dimensions except they have much higher powered motors so im going to give them a go on the shroud and see how i get on. I feel that they are a pretty honest company and they list all their technical details showing reduce of cfm based on static pressure, i cant find that info from mishimoto.
