Default P0336 after Vortech install

I just installed a used '00-'03 Vortech kit on my '00 S2000 with a '05 F22C and '00 ECU. Yes, I know it's going to run lean, this is just temporary until I raise the boost and get an EMS, injectors, etc. After install it immediately threw a P0336 for the crank position sensor and won't rev over 3000 RPM. When I clear the code in my driveway it will run fine until ~4000-4500 RPM free revving and then it will immediately throw the code again and not rev past 3000 RPM again. After double checking, the black boxes are wired up (soldered/shrink wrapped) properly. Are one of the black boxes bad? Any help would be appreciated, the car ran just fine before the install. I found a thread about the same issue some time ago but there never was a resolution.

Thanks!

Double check youre connections . If that doesnt work then pull out the timing box and recheck the car without it . I think its more than likely a connection issue .

Connections were all good. Gave the black box the old 'college kick' (smacked it a few times) and it seems to work fine now.
