Thanks for that little jab at the Greddy kit... Last I checked the Greddy kit does actually come with a turbo, although it is a conservative one. I know you can buy a Pfab kit for about 3,600 brand new, than buy your clutch,EMS, and fuel system and you will probably be at about 6-7 grand tops. If you are mechainically inclined at all, you can install most parts youself (besides mayby clutch) and then get it tuned. 450whp can be had easily with that set up, so it can be done for much less than 12 grand.

I'm not sure where you came up with those numbers, but I've been thinking about going turbo lately and have PMed several members on this site and they all say about 10k or so if I'm doing most of the install. I'm assuming they mean with a good kit, like Full race or the likes.

What do you plan on doing with your car? Just street driving or track racing?

I can't speak for track use, but damn, 350hp with 4.77 for the street seems overkill. Since our CTSC is all top end power, you will run out of gears so fast, I think you'll better off either getting longer gears or stay at stock boost betweet 5-7psi, so can at least take advantage of the gears.

I'm at 7psi, Ap2 tranny with 4.3 final drive, and redline in 1st and 2nd gear already comes much faster than my stock AP1 setup, I think any faster, its just going to make casual driving a huge chore, and I can't even imagine if I was running higher boost than that.

I have seen people run 400+ whp with 4.77s. Mainly just a fun street car. Normall when I drive or roll race, im in 2nd gear anyways when I punch it. Sometimes 3rd, Just need some more oomph lol

do you have any vids so I can compare?

I'm talking about a REAL turbo kit, not a Greddy.

Pfab, from what I have heard is a great kit. And here is where I am getting my numbers: http://www.pfabrications.com/inc/sdetail/748

Im just not trying to prove you wrong (although I dislike when people keep stomping the Greddy into the ground), but you should seriously consider looking into the Pfab kit and talk to people who have one installed. There is a thread going on right now about a pfab kit. I don't have exact numbers of everything else you will need, but I know that an EMS in in the 1500 dollar range and fuel system can't be any more than 600 total, than you have guages test pipe, exhaust (if you don't already have one.

If I get a bigger turbo kit down the road I think this is a great place to start, and if I were you I would take a look at it. I know you don't like the Greddy, but just because a turbo set up doesn't cost 10-12 grand doesn't mean it want churn out tons of reliable power.

Good luck with what you guys decide.

Okay like this young gentleman, i will also be going SC soon. though i wont be taking a loan to do so! But i would like to know, and no i heard from a friend crap, is a 9.5-10psi pulley going to hurt my engine more than the 7psi stock pulley in the VTSC kit. Also, where would you recommend the upgraded pulleys from? I am prepared to purchase the clutch already, and i will be getting the Greddy Emanage. TIA
