Default Preparing for SOT kit.

First let me mention I am a newb on most of this stuff so feel free to dumb down any explanations.

Here is what I have so far for the tuner kit. My Moss manifold, injectors, emanage and harness, and walbro 342. I am probably ordering in a month or so when work allows but I have some time to maybe do some small projects and have some questions for those in the know.

First, the Walbro pump in the picture. Thats all I recieved so I assume that I pull the fuel pump assembly and this just slides into where the stock unit is, correct? What I have there is all that is needed? Do I need to get fuel pump gasket to reinstall the assembly or is whatever gasket that is on there reusable?

Will a stock car run fine with a walbro pump installed and no other modification? It won't run ungodly rich or anything until I can get the rest of the kit on?

Second, I am pulling the driver seat during the install of the fuel pump so might as well hook up the emanage. Now if I install the emanage and clear the maps (I bought it used) it will just draw current but the car will run fine as well because there are no altered parts of the fuel map or timing to screw up the stock ecu? (it would probaly only run like this for a week or two before the kit). I would like to have the EMU and Walbro sort of in place but dormant until the rest of the kit goes on and not worry that I am doing any damage to the engine.

Third, I am ordering the PLX wideband kit with a multiguage. Anyone who has ordered one of these, do I need to do some splicing where the bosch sensor will go in place of the stock one? Or do I need another bung welded somewhere and run both? I thought I was told that the wideband would take the place of the stock one but could also do double duty running to the emanage for finer control of fuel.
Are the instructions pretty complete or vague?

Can anyone recommend a good source for switched power in the dash for the PLX module?

My goal if I get a free Saturday is too have the fuel pump, the emanage and plx all hooked up and taken care of so when the kit comes it will be mostly work in the engine bay.

Many thanks in advance.

Nobody know about this stuff? Can run Walbro on a stock car? Run EMU with no map on a stock car? Bueller? Bueller?

THe pump-job is easy if you know how to do it. THe most trick part is to get the plastic covers out of the car that is in the softtop compartment behind the seats.

There is a DIY guide on these forums if you search, and no new gaskets are needed for the pump switch.

pump is 100% drop in. i'm guessing it won't run super rich because the injectors and ECU dictate the actual amount injected, not the pump, the pump just has the ability to supply more if demanded.

You don't replace the factory lambda sensor. That is still used by the your factory ecu since the emanage is a piggy-back and not a standalone. You'll need to tap an additional bung for the PLX - at the base of your exhaust manifiold is a good spot. I'm not sure how the ultimate works, only had the blue, but if I'm not mistaken you can then feed the wideband signal to the piggyback.

Have you PM'd mark yet? He'd be the one to help you the best since he runs the setup you are after.

Thanks for the responses. I am assuming the extra bung on the header is a standard thing any muffler shop can do or do you guys think I need to go to a performance shop?

I have exchanged a few PM's in the past with Mark and probably will in the future. He has sent me lots of info and just trying to get some general stuff answered so I don't wear out my welcome with him.

He is the one who recommended the PLX unit.

any muffler shop SHOULD be able to do this. just make sure they know if its S/S or titanium before. Some will use a wire/flux specific for those materials. some dont. some of your aftermarket headers have an extra 02 bung for these situations.
