was a 24mm, there were a couple shavings on the magnetic diff drain plug, but no chunks of metal, so that means axle? Or could the chunks be too big to fit through the drain hole?

so the only axle that didn't look perfect was thedrivers side,so I guess I will order one? Any one-person tests to determine which axle is busted?

Did you remove the fill bolt on the diff first? I think that one is 23mm.

no, damn it, lol, just popped off the bottom/drain bolt, would that affect whether or not huge metal pieces would come out? If I can get some wifi, i'll upload pic of axle

It won't affect anything coming out. It's just a good idea to make sure you can remove the fill bolt before removing the drain. It would suck if you can't get the fill bolt out.

ah, ok, gotcha, i was able to remove the fill bolt last time when i changed the fluid, so hopefully i can get it again

time to look for driver's side axle, oreillys and autozone both said it'd be 3-4 weeks, fml

yea, found one on car-part for $100 from an 04, but they dont know mileage/condition and it's an hour drive away
