pretty sure my diff exploded

Did you actually try to spin the driveshaft with your hands with the car in neutral or just look at it?
what would spinning it prove? should i or shouldn't i be able to spin it, and what should happen to the axles while it's spinning? (i freely admit i'm a noob)
if diff is busted, and i spin driveshaft, then nothing should happen to axles? how should the ebrake be?
i'm still not sure if it's an axle or diff, so any information on how to determine could definitely cut down on my time
If you broke the axle at the CV joint where most people do, you may see the joint/boot twisted. In between the differential and that joint, push on the axle on the metal bar. That should have no movement if the axle is fine. If you can move it around, then the joint is broken and you need a new axle.
Here is mine when I busted it. I could move it around a lot.

if you upgrade the diff, then abuse will move on to next weak link.
Ur driveshafts could be intact, but the internals are destroyed, it doesnt take much to shatter one under boost, and also...Maybe its just me but the first thing i was told in owning an s2k was NEVER to dump the clutch, especially on a stock ass?? I cant remeber whats involved with removing the diff? but i would start with draining it...That will most likely be an indication of problems, hopefully metal doesnt come gushing out with the fluid. i would take your drive axles off and inspect them near the input shaft.
the problem with draining the diff is that I don't have a socket to fit on there, i have 6 wrenches and a little socket set that i borrowed from a friend.
Aus, that movement is with the axle still connected at both ends?

You do know that if the axle is broke and the differential is fine, then it'd be pointless to put in a new differential with the same broken axle?
