PTUNING S2000 Turbo System (Pics, Dyno, Pricing)
So why is everyone trying to make 700whp? The S is already a handful to drive through the twisty with a base GT30R and 400+ DD whp. But I guess for drag racing, you can never have enough power. You guys are so greedy

Can p-tuning please chime in if a HTA 86 with tial housing obviously will fit on the kit?

Great! Thanks! And to answer your question it's for drag... Street car... I have to many friends with 600, 700, 800whp street driven cars! Ugh... Lol thanks for the help!
Ok so I was able to get boost under control with the new prototype restrictor. We were able to do a final tune at 17psi 525whp mustang dyno 0 knock voltage, and pump gas. Only thing I suggest for faster spool is put in a 7lb inner spring in the WG but as far as getting boost under control with a gt3582r on stock internals the restrictor works perfectly. I approve mass production lol. So all this being said I'm glad I can move on from this. I am getting out of the turbo game. I enjoyed every second of having all this power but I need to move on to my true passion which is competitive karting. So chase race here I come. PTuning guys thank you for all your help.

No creep issue even without the disc here. Boosting to 17psi at redline 10K redline. Run wastegate for sure to eliminate probs.

I am running the Turbosmart wastegate that came with the PTuning kit but I have it recirculated back into the exhaust.
On a related note, I need to refresh my memory about exactly what point the wastegate is designed to recirculate into the exhaust system. If my memory serves, the Ptuning recirc tube routes the gas back into the downpipe UPSTREAM of the restricting disc (on the manifold side of the disc rather than on the muffler side of the disc). Can anyone confirm this? If that's the case, the restrictor disc would be restricting both the main exhaust path and also the wastegate bypass path. It still likely provides some degree of control in this arrangement (due to the pressure drop of the exhaust turbine), but I'm not convinced the restrictor disc would help to effectively manage creep in this case. My opinion is that you get the best wastegate control by ensuring the lowest possible restriction of the wasted exhaust gasses. A short section of tube dumping to atmosphere is about as low restriction as possible
Second best would be to recirculate into the exhaust DOWNSTREAM of the restricting disc. Thoughts anyone?[/quote]
It makes sense to me that dumping the atmosphere will control creep better. I may have to try that route eventually.
I don't want to mess with my boost because everything has been tuned by PTuning.
You are correct, the recirc tube does route the WG gas into the exhaust UPSTREAM of the restricting disc.
I do agree with you that dumping into the exhaust downstream of the restricting disc will help control boost better. Since that isn't an option with this kit dumping to the atmosphere is the only choice.
With the warmer weather we have been having here in PA lately, I haven't been experiencing any creep issues w/the test disc installed. I feel like it could also be in my tune. When I got tuned it was in 90 degree weather, no restricting disc was needed with no creep issues.
Problem for me is that in the future I want to get into HPDE's. I should be OK doing these in the summer but as the temps get lower the creep will come back even with the test disc. That's a problem on the track.
Talking to others I think my best bet would be to change to dump to atmosphere wastegate and (in spring or fall) remove/install various size restricting discs and/or change modify my tune for cooler weather.
Does anyone run a separate tune for the summer and the winter?
I hope that PTuning can chime in, I'd like to see what they think.
Blah...found a present under the hood today. Pipe coming off the turbo going to the intercooler. I guess my pipes shifted and this one began to touch the manifold.
