Quick AEM EMS Question
So my EMS came in today, it is used and was missing the S/N PT# Sticker and I wanted to check and see if everything was okay with the unit. I am able to comunicate with it and everything seems okay but, is there an easy way to tell if it is set up for my car? I have printed the manual but at 217 pages it will take me a few minutes to get familiar with the unit. I called AEM but without a S/N they wont allow me to send it back for the $50 inspection.
Its not setup for your car. If it is either a 1012, 1052, or 1052u, it will plug into the OEM ECU plugs. If not, it won't. If it plugs in, you will have to upload a tune to the ECU, which is specific to the S2000 (.cal files).
If you did not get a base tune, you will need a tuner to setup the EMS for you, as the ONLY S2000 .cal file AEM includes is for NA applications... Your tuner can probably work off of the NA one that came with the unit (all the supplied AEM .cal files are on the software CD, I believe), and just modify the fuel/timing tables.
Remember that you will have to recalibrate the Coolant and Air Intake Temp tables... If you want accurate readings.

You can check the AEM forums they have a few turbo s2000 maps there aswell.
I will hopfully get to start reading the manual soon. Right now I have about a thousand questions and usually the more I think I know the less I really do. This is one of the reason that I wanted to go with the EMS. I am sure you will hear from me more than once about the EMS over the next few months.
