Default Quick Comptech ESM question

My recent purchase of a Comptech S/c kit didn't come with an ESM.

If my understanding is right, I'm lead to believe I don't require one if I chose to run a stand alone ECU, such as AEM 1052 / 1012 etc.

By replacing your OEM ECU, along with the Comptech ESM, with a stand alone ECU, the requirement of the Comptech ESM is no longer required, correct? Especially when you intend to run larger boost later on.

I just can't see the point in spending $200 on an ESM, and uping the boost a few months later, only to remove the ESM, and have to use a stand alone ECU. I'd rather put that $200 towards an ECU.

Or am I just way off, and the ESM is definately required no matter what - be it OEM ECU or stand alone - and I should just buy one anyway because its a requirement of either boosted systems.

Help is appreciated.

ESM and OEM ECU will be history if you're installing AEM 1012 or 1052 and up boost your SC.
Replace OEM injectors with larger injectors, Stock SC pulley with Smaller size and Get tune it.
WILL MAKES ALOT OF SMILE ON YOUR FACE and It is PRICELESS.
