I've had it backfire and blow off vacuum hoses on a hot start. Worse yet, and not many will actually believe this (I did post a thread the day it happened). I had it backfire once on a hot start and then run backwards. I was at a light and killed it (stupid Iron man clutch) when trying to restart it popped and sorta made a buzzing sound and then started running, didn't sound right but I needed to get out of the intersection, I let the clutch out and the car started backing up. I killed it imediately, jumped out and told the folks behind me to go around, I figured it was messed up. Got in and restarted it and it ran fine, though it was idling high due to a popped vacuum hose. I called my tuner as soon as I got into work and he said he'd never heard of it before except in a diesel. I've had 2 stroke dirt bikes catch wrong and run backward but I didn't think a modern engine could do it w/out messing stufff up. I't been fine since. I think it's a little rich on a hot start and need to get it adjusted.

Yeah, it really did. I know it's hard to believe, people asked "R U sure it was in a forward gear?". I'm not stupid (generally) and have been monkeying w/engines for 30 yrs so I'm pretty sure what happened really happened. I tell ya, it freaked me out and I was sure it caused some damage somehow but everythings fine, no issues.

While the ignition is off, poke the injector wires with pointed light tester see if there is juice.

The only thing I could think, most ecu is powered by ground. Maybe there are juice on some of the sensors-relays-fuel pump-injectors and so on.
