Sorry have been clearer.

A stock SC e.g CTSC running stock ECU with stock pulley (5.5psi) (or other SC's) which folk have run is too advanced using stock ECU timing.

Since the OP's answer is about the GEMU its relevant, e.g not using a standalone.

As said mine is -0.5 psi of boost and slightly more right at the top end.

Is your ignition timing based on load/rpm? I'm just comparing a few of my old cal files from my old setups that my previous tuner did now that I am becoming more involved in the tuning aspect and basically tuned my last setup with a tuner.

My old cal files are adjusted to peak then drop all building up timing to 0 psi then dropping from there.

I would be interested to see how your timing table looks! Post a pic if you get a chance!

Here is a really old file for comparison sake. I didn't tune the car and this setup was about 4 years ago with an UR kit running 9psi on a stock compression F22.

Here is the S2000 Startup cal for comparison

Here is my UR 9psi timiing table

o'malley has it set up as camuman said.lower timing at 5k then at 9k.
my timing with a ctsc about 11psi

6500 29degrees 7.8psi
7200 28/8.6
7500 27/9
8000 23/9.6
8300 19/10.0
9000 19/11

I dont know what kit you are running, but you want to start out conservatively.
Make sure you have your AFRs close to where you want them to be
I would set it less then 20* for most of the WOT section when you start building boost.
Do your pull. If you see any know major knock or lean conditions let off and add fuel/retard timing to that section. You shouldnt see much if any if with timing retarded this much.
Start going through and adding timing until you stop gaining torque. If you keep gaining torque but also start getting knock back it off a couple of degrees and leave it there, that about as good as youre going to get it.
This is how I was taught and do it. A lot of people will tell you to keep adding timing until you get knock then back it off. I dont like this approach and feel its a little more dangerous. Reason being if you are making the most torque at say 18* and you are getting knock at 26* so you back it off to 24*. Now you only have a 2* safety net instead of 8* safety net.

Good luck and we all had to start somewhere with questions.
thank you
