Default S/C'd gone Turbo....WHY?

I just got my CTSC installed on my S and I love it. I'm curious why it seems like a lot of people on S2ki go from SC'ers to turbo setups. I realize the midrange benefits, but then again I've never been in a turbo'd S. I already want a 9 psi pulley because its not much more money but I'm curious why people switch FI setups, I don't want to get bored of my setup down the line with a S/C....why did you switch?

if you get a 9lb pulley you'll have to get new fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and a new fuel management system. then you need to get it tuned. it's not as cheap as you think by just swapping pulleys.

because you've never been in a turbo s

i first had a stock comptech, then a 14psi 380whp s/c and im now going turbo...

the amount of extra torque a turbo kit makes over a supercharger at the same psi can be prettty impressive

once you get the fi bug.. you only want more... and going turbo.. in the long run is cheaper and bigger numbers are possible

Its sooooooooooooooo true.

I got a ride in a SCed s2k and I wasn't impressed. So much so that I sold my SC kit before I even installed it (knew I wouldn't like it) and even teh owner of the s2k I got a ride in sold it.

Then I got a ride in a turbod car (plus got my car turboed as well). Its just a COMPLETLY different beast. Its powerful on a whole new level.

Get a ride in one and you'll ditch your SC in minutes.

Yeah - I had an N/A setup that was about as quick as a stock SC setup. It was boring after awhile. The first time I drove a turbo'd S I was laughing maniacally - it is outright insanity.

A SC S2000 vs. a Turbo S2000 could be described as a stock Miata to a stock S2000.

Keep in mind, to hit anything over 7 psi on a SC you'll need injectors, fuel pump, and tuning. You'll spend another 1500 - 2000 right there. 9 PSI should put you around 330-340 hp - whereas 9PSI on a turbo will be around 360, but maybe 80-100 hp more in the midrange. Once the boost hits, it kicks your ass... hard.

If you plan on going anything over the stock boost on the SC, it'll cost (more or less) just as much as turbo setup only you get 10 times more fun factor
