That's pretty high power for the stock diffs so its good that they don't break around the 300HP mark for example. Curious, were you launching it often, what clutch did you run and what diff oil?

I've been through a few diffs on this S2000 (last one had puddymod internals), and yes I do agree if I drove it like a granny it would last longer but why turbo an S2000 if you don't intend to enjoy it

Honestly don't know how some guys run these 400+hp cars with a stock diff or gearbox.

I do have a sense of mechanical sympathy and rev match with gear changes, but I don't want drive the car in a manner that I am scared that it's going to break the whole time.

The car it to be enjoyed on street and track / road course / gymkhana type events every few months. Might take it to the odd drag event but that is not really my scene.

On the 8.8" diff, won't that transform it more into a straight line type of car?
I like nimble handling cars like S2000, RX-7, M3, MX-5, Intergra etc.

Considering just buying a Quaife diff depending on the ratios that are available.
Ideally I'm looking in the 3.6 to 3.8 range

Nissan R230 will become alot more popular especially outside the US where the 8.8 isn't all that readily available. Quaife sell a ATB LSD for this which for me is the best all round street / track / drag setup.

Thank you for the input.
I am tending towards the Quaife ATB LSD at the moment.
I'm from South Africa, but spoke to the guys from King's Performance in the US and they are quite reasonable with the price they want to charge me for it.
