SC not accelerating for a few seconds
Hi,
I have a problem which is causing my hair to fall out, as neither I nor my tuner is finding the answer.
My setup is a vortech sc, on stock boost (7-8 PSI), Mugen exhaust & manifold, stock injectors, DIY CAI through opening in front, Greddy e-manage for fuel.
What is happening? When I accelerate with WOT in 6th gear, as I reach 5700 rpm's the acceleration stops although I press the pedal to the medal. Exhaust temp is going up from 740-750 degrees celsius to about 850-860 degrees celsius in just one or two seconds. It finally goes further after a couple of seconds when it hits 6500 rpm's or so and VTEC kicks in. Before that the lights between 5700 and 6100 rpm's go on and off, but the cars not speeding anymore.
When I accelerate w/o WOT and just with maybe half throttle, there's no problem at all, exhaust temp stays at 750 degrees celsius and car is slowly but surely accelerating.
This is worse in 6th gear, then in 5th gear. I don't feel it in 1st or 2nd gear as it goes so fast over it, but it get's gradually worse with each higher gear.
To me it looks like at that point (5700 rpm) the ECU sees more more air than it can handle and/or the stock injectors come to 100% duty cycle (just an assumption), but I don't know why it works later once the VTEC kicks in. Exhaust temp goes up, because maybe I'm running to lean at that point, which is surprising, cause I haven't had the problem last year when the car was tuned. It ran fine w/o this problem, it only came b/c I took the batterie off over the winter and the ECU is since then behaving like this. But I already drove about 1000km or even more, so the ECU should have learned by now.
Somehow short before VTEC it hesitates, then when VTEC finally kicks it goes off as normal.
Can't find the solution, if it's the injectors then why are they working 100% ok above that power band?
Comments, solutions?
TIA,
Andreas
PS: BTW, I just installed the aquamist water injection system 2D on my Honda, now we'll need to tune it a bit more. Once it works perfectly, I'll post more about it!
