Default School me on head upgrades

After attending E-town this past weekend, I made a couple choices.

I need to spin this F22 a little farther, 8200-8500 isn't good enough. W/the bottom end setup, I think I can get 9000-9500 out of it.

I really need to extend the time in each gear, and get myself out of shifting into 5th across the stripe, with some different tires and upping the limiter I think that is easily doable.

W/that said, I'm also pretty set on Ferrera stuff, only b/c I saw a valve drop, and BEND, not break. Which from what I was told, Supertech stuff has been breaking.

Now, what I'm wondering is what my options are.

I'd like to really keep the costs down. I'm not looking for headwork, as in machinging, I think I can easily swap out the valves/springs/retainters myself. I've swapped springs/retainers/keepers in the past.

I don't need to swap seals, or guides imo. Head only has 50k on it. 4k of those miles were boosted.

I'm wondering if I can keep my stock valves, or should I swap those out too.

Depending on cost, I could do Ferrea valves, and supertech springs/retainers..if they are compatable together.

Looking to hear from people that have been down this road.

Thanks all in advance.

If you are planning on replacing head parts, you might as well do the entire valvetrain. Throw in some supertech valves/spring/retainers and enjoy it. The valves are probably another $250-275 more but worth the upgrade I'm sure. As long as the bottom end can handle it, then go for it. Just be sure to inspect the guides and seals.

pretty sure its been posted that stock valves snap at the stem when revved higher. def swap to i think they said inconel material valves.

i would love to see a f22 spin that high, just not sure how long it could last. contact inlinepro, they were reving the piss outa there stroker motors, so i bet they know whats safe for the f22.

I've not really heard of anyone bending any of the supertech valves but what was the limited set on the car(s) you saw this on? I've got all supertech valvetrain in mine but I don't plan on revving the hell it of it to improve longevity. Id definitely want to just go ahead and replace the valves also while you had everything tore apart

Wasn't the rev limit restriction on the f22 always said to be because of piston speeds becoming too high or has that been disproved now?

My tuner had my f22 spinning at 8750 for 5000 miles so far until the headgasket popped...

Prior to that I have probably put about 20k miles spinning it at 8500

Ok, I'm sure there is a reason this is dumb, but why not change your gearing? If all you are after is fewer shifts, up the boost and put in a different final drive rearend. Or switch to an AP1 transmission.

It's not like I'll run around slamming 9500 all day, I'm just looking into it.

Be nice to have that option when I go to the track.

Curious on the prices between the Supertech stuff, and the Ferrera stuff.

Not sure where to start looking.

I was double checking this gear calculator, and I don't think there is much I can do to keep it out of 5th, just not realistic.

However, I want more time in each gear, and part of that will be an extended redline.

Here is what I'm using.

I've got a 255 tire on it now, so I was using that, since I don't have any slicks yet. That will help get me some mph as well, when I figure out what size I'm using.

I was keeping the 4.10 @ the moment, until I figure out the rear end.

3.90 or 3.63 rear gear would be sick.

For valves check with joeyballs, spooljn, and Scott ddsdcd I think?

I'm going to be working on some sort of rear end upgrade, and I'll figure that out after first of the year I think.
