Seized Turbo
If you run your ignition timing too retarded or you have cams with too much overlap the exhaust temps can be too high. Due to charge still burning on the way out of the engine.
Worth fitting a exhaust temp sensor. You should be able to connect a thermocouple to your AEM and display via your AEM serial gauge.
If you buy one make sure you get the weld on fitting to suit. I can weld it on for you when you next have your exhaust manifold out.

AEM have 2 options
1 slower sensor which interfaces directly to the AEM.
2 K type thermocouple which also requires a amplifier to connect into an AEM
I can get a Motec K type, amplifier and fitting for approx $240 AUD which you could connect into an AEM voltage input.

I've ordered the AEM sensor. Should be here in a few days.
As for the turbo, $1155 rebuild.

Where to start??
First if you are running antifreeze in the CHRA read this article on clocking the cartridge correctly to optimize the cooling potential.

As far as the pyrometers are concerned, I would recommend one per cylinder. I got a very nice setup with (4) pyrometers that have the sensitivity to read individual pulses. If you run them constantly I would looked for a heaver tip than mine which will lower resolution but I am only using them to tune and for diagnostics. I am using a 1/8" NTP head so I can screw them in them when not in use I filled the holes with pipe plugs.
