Default Single exit exhaust with Comptech?

Guys, I'm considering jumping on a UK GB for the Comptech SC. However, I'm also tempted to buy a J's Racing 60RS exhaust (I used to have a T1-R exhaust but it was too loud for track days) as well. Will this necessitate getting an aftermarket ECU (cost of ECU and finding a knowledgable tuner much more difficult over here)?

Thanks.

Craig

There isn't much difference in terms of sound/performance output of the 60RS vs T1R. Since you're going FI, you ought to look at a dual-pipe output in consideration of your (noise intolerance).

1.How can something be too loud for trackdays?
2.If you mean aftermarket ECU like Mugen, J's ect. than that's not what you need.
3.If you mean a standalone or piggy-back that works with the OEM ECU, than you also don't need one. If you plan to increase the boost, you have to get one tho'.
4. For FI you might look into the 70mm J's exhaust, keep your ear plugs handy!

1. Local people complain of noise pollution. Most are set at 97dB @ 66% throttle. Even Nurburgring has dB limits.
2. I think PL was on about an AEM (or similar) to tweak the fueling.
3. I'll be using a VAFC to fine tune.

And with regards to point 1., it's also illegal to to have a noisy exhaust on the street. But it's a grey area with no defined limits, but you can get done for "causing distress to the public". I've a 2.5" straight through pipe, to a 5" backbox and I'm just waiting for the police to pull me.

Bibbs has answered most of Jakub's points. Re point 4, see point 1

The VAFC seems a cheap option, but you have to pull the ECU fuse periodically, don't you?

Yeah .. I will be (when I can be arsed to do it) tapping in a button to my ECU backup power wire. Then I can just hide a button under the dash to cut the power to the ECU to reset it when the ignition is off.
