Something New
Okay, so i started to hear this clicking noise. At first I changed the oil and oil filter. Still there, so i had extra spark plugs sitting around and replaced those. Gapped to .035/.036. Still there so i had the valves adjusted. I still heard it, so i replaced the TCT. Took a little longer with the VTSC in the way but got it done. The tickin went away.
I then drove 900miles and was fine the whole way to Florida. But it was at night. I drove around there and it was fine. On my drive back to Virginia it was 98 degrees outside and at about mid North Carolina my AFR went up to about 16-16.5 at idle and about 17.3 at cruising speeds. Usually about 14.7 at cruising. So anyways, it was getting lean as hell and i pulled off the road. I let it sit for about two hours then started to drive it again. Hit a little traffic and this sound started happenin. Only under load and while accelerating. Not while decelerating (like down shifting and letting the gearing slow it down.) I sounds god awful, but doesnt seem to affect the performance at all. It is like a metal clunking of stones in a kettle. That is the best to describe it. Once i got home i let it sit over night then drove it the next day. It way fine for the first half an hour and then it started to make the noise again. It is coming from the passenger side. Any ideas. I will get a sound clip if i can.

Sound clip would be good.
It might be the SC bracket...those are prone to cracking on the paxton style SCs. You might also look at the pulleys...SC belts installed to tight can cause pulleys to crack.

My second brand new TCT went bad after 3 thousand miles so dont rukle that out and it would only make noise when the engine was warm.. after i sandblasted the worm gear it never came back.
check the supercharger stuff out though before going back to the tensoiner.

Well, i am starting to think it may be the spark plugs. See i went with NGK coppers cause my tuner said to with the VTSC. But i gapped them super aggressive. It has been about 3k miles since i put them in and 2k of that highway under load just at vtec. Right after it makes that sound it smells like gas soooo bad. Where as when it doesnt and i go to a red light i cant smell the gas at all. So i dont think the gas is getting burned and it is the pistons making their way on the power stroke without combustion. I will post more info tomorrow.
I drove it to Buffalo wild wings and it made the sound the whole way there. And didnt at all on the way back. It is a hard problem to pin down. And it isnt consistent at all.
