Agreed. I've been running two years without any issues and no turbo timer. I would make sure that you do not boost heavily, then shut the motor off...other then that, boost away.

Dustin, I forget if you had your 1200 running at max rpm or not (aka 3-3.2") if you did I would be curious to know what your thoughts on the Turbo is in comparison. I realize there is going to be more mid range power because the turbo can produce full pressure in the mid range unlike a sc, but how about the pull at the upper range... full out, when ripping through the gears?

If given the same max hp I am sure the turbo will be much faster anywhere in the rpm range besides redline. The sc does have the surge feel where it get's more and more but the turbo would already be at the "more" much earlier on. For actual acceleration it should be night and day difference.

I am really tempted to get this kit this winter if I decide to go ahead with a motor build and keep my S.

Ive just spent the past 30 minutes making dyno graphs to post later today when I get my car back. They compare the F20C, F22C, CT N1200 AC, CT N1000 UR FMIC, SOS 1200 AC, and the SOS 1220SL AC. Man I have wasted so much money on this car...

I dropped the car off at 8am this morning. I am hoping to have it back before the day is over with.

Why? You were two pulleys away from the blowers top efficiency range. I would expect more mid and top end power. 412whp for this blower isnt even getting into the meat of what its capable of. But even so, making more boost sooner even if it didn’t yield you much more top end wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing right? I'm just surprised you never maxed it out to see what it truly felt like before you gave up and invested in turbo. But I suppose you had other reasons too which is cool.

Isnt that what the turbo timer is for? Insurance? Are they very expensive? I dont know what kind of driver RAIN H8R is, but i'm thinking id might want one if turbo charged.

Cool Glad someone has all that extra coin to try out all these set ups and post graphs for us. Be sure and add accurate info on dyno type and psi seen from each set up for proper comparison and consideration

I think the point is it's not needed, that is why all production cars have water cooled turbos. None of them have turbo timers. If it makes you sleep better at night then by all means get one.
