I am currently supercharged (vortech) and am getting very bored with it. The "instant" power a supercharger gives will be missed, but everyone I have talked to that have made the swap say I won't regret it. I am going to go with the Forged kit as well

I have to ask have you ever had a car that had a turbo on it not a supercharger?

I ask because it takes FOREVER to hit full boost on a supercharger. If you look at most dyno graphs superchargers usually don't hit FULL boost till 8 or 9 grand. This is why a turbo is superior to a supercharger because depending on the size of the turbo you can hit fully boost by 5 or 6 grand. Going from a turbo to a supercharger I was like "where's the boost at".lol. You WILL NOT REGRET going with a turbo just understand just like any force induction it is going to reduce the reliability of your car. Understand things will break and you'll have to fix them.

spapdx How exactly are you getting that instant power from a Centrifigual supercahrger. Only Roots or Twin Screw do that 0_o

I had a 2008 evox with fpred putting down 415/364@ Cobb in plano and a 2009 civic Si CT supercharged making 299210 on 9the psi.

I like the Turbo better but I'm a little worried about going on a road trip with my girl and some shit going wrong and us being out in the middle of nowhere.

Also, what are the vibration issues with the Turbo people keep talking about?

Other then having stiffer motor mounts I'm not sure what vibrations their speaking of. Dude when I had my civic it was a stock GSR motor with just springs and retainers. I made 343/275 it lasted me 3 years till I started to have some serious blow by as my rings went bad. Never had any problems beside my Hondata crushing which I made the switch to Neptune. I did know that it was a matter of time before my motor would go and had money on the side. I sold the car to a friend who ran it for another year. Keep in mind I beat the piss out of the car and when I changed commands (in navy) drove her from RI to FL with no issues.

Oh, ok. I just said that because I read it in other threads out there.

As far as the oil line thing, I read it wrong. It was just the sl one.

You don't want the self lubricate kit. If you go on SOS website they even mention that they have problems with the SL kit.

OP I have to ask but what is making you lean towards a S/C over a T/C?

People speculated that there would be vibration issues when the kit was first released. I have not read nor experienced any type of issue. I have put 5,000 miles on the kit at 390whp, 440whp, 515whp, and now am at 564whp. Eventually I will go even higher, just right now I am limited by my 06+ fuel system.

I would go with the turbo kit simply because I have liked having the option of turning up the boost without changing ANYTHING.
