the car smokes a light grey color when i usually take off or come to a stop? think its the return line?

By capping of 1 of the 2 lines that are connected to where the oil filter goes, will it effect anything? i was told it was done to by pass that line because it sits to close to the manifold

also im sure ur running a walboro 255, how is yours installed?

when the car gets to a qtr tank it starts running really rough/bad it will not drive good what so ever at that point and also when i come to a stop and am idleing it cuts off--(this is all whe im around a 1/4 tank or less)

im so frustrated with all of this and i have only have the kit on a week and a half

hopefully you can help me figure out my problems!

thanks for any input
I do have a walbro 255. No problems there. Sounds like you need to reinstall yours and ensure the pickup is at the bottom of the assembly. I didn't install mine so I can't tell you 100% what needs to be done. Plenty of people on this board have so finding the answer shouldn't be too difficult.

There is debate whether the stock oil cooler actually does any good. I don't think it hurts so I would run reconnect it if I could. My coolant line is ziptied to my oil return line at the bottom of the oil filter to keep it away from the manifold.

i bought the mase kit used and had it installled by a local shop and i have had nothing but problems, but alot of mine is tune related

how can i tell if its backing up in the line?

heres a pic of where my oil return line is

is it to low?

also i noticed that my installer capped of one of the coolant lines that go right by the oil filter is this okay?
I can tell you now that return line is to low. Oil will back up that line for sure. If you have a 5857 journal bearing from Precision you may have a bad turbo also. Check out show me pics of tapped pans with search. I have a pic of a proper tapped pan. Sounds like you also need to find a better tuner in your area also.

mase should have told you that i am on my third aem filter this is my new solution i did the other month, since i have had no issues, and removed it the other day to clean etc and no sticking or heat issues melting the filter or silicone hose

Ive got that same AEM filter hooked up directly to my turbo and havent had any problems with it melting that I can tell. What did you notice?

you need a new shop.. seriously.
installed mine on my own the way Mase intended, and have had no problem that were caused from the kit itself.

Your return line is way too low, and WILL back up into the turbo.
The hose the the oil cooler was supposed to be changed to a longer one that does a U under the oil filter and back into the cooler. It also comes with a heat shield sleeve for it.

Yes, about the same turbo.

I am using the boost by gear, but only to reduce the boost to combat creep in the higher gears+RPM's. Apparently I don't make enough power to spin all over the place like some people say they are.
Dont worry I dont either.
412 @ 14psi on a mustang dyno and with 255 Star Specs I only spin through first gear if I go WOT at lower speeds, also 2Stepping out the hole I'll spin through first. Every other gear holds great.

The area where the hose clamp holds the filter on melts and eventually the filter falls off. My K&N that I replaced it with has had no issues.

darius is using his oil cooler lines because i removed the threaded piece that goes into the block and cut a half inch out of its length, welded it back together, then reinstalled it.

see it next to the oil fittings above the headflange gasket.
