sr20 conversion ?
I have a SR20VE in my DD, if I could afford a K series(FWD F20 lol) and it bolted into a Nissan Sentra I would have done that instead. While a SR20VE+T (not SR20VET because its FWD/AWD and only has one cam that switchs not both like NA VE's) is a good motor but does not compare to the F Series either. And I own both, Im probably the only one on this forum that has a F20, a SR20VE (FWD) and a SR20DET (RWD) trust me F series owns all. Spend some time on Zilvia or 240sxForums, Those guys struggle to make what a simple bolt on turbo kit will make on our S2000s.
No you don't have a ve head on a rwd motor do you? Cuz Rhys what I'm talking about. Not a standard fwd sr20ve. The ve head on a sr20det will smash. Multiple cam lift and duration similar to "vtec" but on the turbo block. People rev 9k plus. Seen 460whp from 14psi on a 3071r. The na ve head on the sr > f20/22. If you haven't seen it check mazworx drag car. 11k revs. Im impressed with the f20/22 power but they just seem to be a bit slower for the power.
And as for the power. I would just like to see some whp vs 1/4 track times. Because a number means nothing without a trap speed to back it up. I've tried searchig and haven't been able to find too much. Maybe the turbo used but no whp figure.

FAIL SWAP!!! Biggest waste of time and money ever. You have to build a sr20 to make worse numbers than a F20c does bone stock! Not to mention the cost of the swap.
Ive seen the green sr20 JE built car in person. Owner was a loud mouth that towed it to a local gathering taling smak then bitched up to race my old turbo hatch.
Car and swap is different, best thing I can say about it.
IMO shits poop
2jz, rb if you feel the need to swap, I feel getting rid of the nearly perfect motor is blasphamy. But at least you'd go 6 cly no other 4 cylinder can touch it. (4g63 guys mite beg to differ lol)

S2000s are quite a bit heavier then S chassis cars also, with the same power my s13 will always trap better times then my S2000. But who wants to drag race an S2000? Not me, 1/4 miles times prove one thing, your to afraid to use the car for what it was built to do- turn!

but what your not doing is reading my thread my standard engine has blown !!! so im not just doing a swap for the hell of it so rebuilding my engine then paying for a turbo kit is way more expensive like i have already said !
^^ if you had a sr20det with a disco potato and only had slightly better power than a stock s2000, then something was wrong. and s13's weigh 26xx to 27xx. s14 27xx-28xx. and the s2000 weighs 28xx? correct me if im wrong but thats not much of a difference. also power is power even if your on a road course having the same "whp" as another car and weighing the same, yet being slower just doesnt make sense in my book.
either way, i agree that the cost of converting is not worth it. just rebuild the motor. but i would disagree that the sr is a "crap" swap.

Slightly better power as in probably the 280 range. I started running into unrelated problems before I could get a good tune. I never said my car was slower than an S but it doesn't matter, not really a worthwhile consideration for the S unless you're just trying to be different for the sake of being different. Performance / cost wise it's NOT a good swap.
