Nice to hear someone else is doing this as well. I finally got around to doing mine a few weeks ago. I will say it took a bit more effort than I anticipated... but it works great now! If you have questions feel free to PM me, I meant to write up a DIY... but haven't had time to do so.

A couple of tips if you haven't started already. Pick up some hex head sockets (english sizes), some long 1/4 inch bolts for seperating the housing, and find some kind of thick flexible material to help install shafts into the seals. A press is nice to have for installing and seperating the bearings and impeller.

Also, make sure to keep the alignment mark on the bolt, impeller shaft, and impeller visible. The mark on the impeller shaft can easily be rubbed off on accident.

Good Luck!

JBell,

I spoke to Paxton on the phone (888-9 Paxton), and they told me that they would charge $300 for a full rebuild of the Novi 1000. I guess this is 6 in 1, 1/2 dozen another because you now know how to rebuild a supercharger (actually looks kinda fun) and with shipping you'd probably come close to breaking even. However, just an FYI, Paxton will rebuild their own products as a service.

That being said, thank you for posting this thread. I'm the type of guy who prefers to do his own work because I like to know it was done right. I like knowing that, if the day comes, I will be able to order up the internals and rebuild my own unit myself.

Has anyone considered trying the Novi 1200 unit? There's word of a couple companies converting their old Comptech kits to this supercharger. I don't know what progress has been made. I wonder if the internals are compatable with the Novi 1000 housing.
Hmmm anyone know what would be involved in upgrading to novi 1200 ? I'd like to pick up a used comptech and just rebuild/upgrade to novi 1200

With regards to mounting it, if the bolt pattern of the 1200 matches the one on the 1000, then it could potentially work. Otherwise, you'd have to rework the Comptech mounts, or get new ones made.

I could've sworn there was talk about this previously (in another thread, but I can't seem to find it), and it was mentioned that the NOVI 1200 has a different bolt pattern. There was talk that Comptech (or CT Engineering, as they're now called) supposedly is going to use the 1200 in all of their future S2000 kits...that's when it was mentioned that the bolt pattern was different, so they were working on new mounts or something like that.

What are the key differences between the Novi 1000 and 1200?

I don't really see how his question isn't relevant and he isn't the only one with questions about the Novi 1200 including the thread starter ?

Was it really necessary to call him out ? Its not even your thread ?

Some small tidbits that I found on the comparo , the Novi 1000 is capable of flowing 850 cfm with a maximum of 12-15 psi. The Novi 1200 runs up to 1000 cfm and this is the part that seems like a nice upgrade....

"It contains highly advanced computer design gears that feature an optimized helical profile, which allow for near silent operation"

I couldn't find the maximum boost Paxton gives for the 1200

Yeah that is the same info I found to be honest I don't think I need to have more cfm. Because I don't plan on going with more psi. But if the 1200 is a better design then I might want to upgrade if I can. I would like to know more about this as well as more info on the rebuild because I think its time for my blower to be rebuilt also
