So I finally pulled apart my blower with the help of Jbell and SuperchargerRebuilds. Sure enough my front seal was bad, shredded and brittle. I think Jbell took apart most of his blower with the exception of the impeller. You

JBell,

I spoke to Paxton on the phone (888-9 Paxton), and they told me that they would charge $300 for a full rebuild of the Novi 1000. I guess this is 6 in 1, 1/2 dozen another because you now know how to rebuild a supercharger (actually looks kinda fun) and with shipping you'd probably come close to breaking even. However, just an FYI, Paxton will rebuild their own products as a service.

That being said, thank you for posting this thread. I'm the type of guy who prefers to do his own work because I like to know it was done right. I like knowing that, if the day comes, I will be able to order up the internals and rebuild my own unit myself.

Has anyone considered trying the Novi 1200 unit? There's word of a couple companies converting their old Comptech kits to this supercharger. I don't know what progress has been made. I wonder if the internals are compatable with the Novi 1000 housing.

Bump, any updates? I have a big oil leak and need new seals. Bearings seem to be fine but should I replace them while I am in there?

Did anyone find generic bearing part #'s or do you have to buy the whole rebuild kit? Any special tools required or balancing? Thanks for any help...

^ That's more in line with what I've heard from others concerning a rebuild by Paxton.

That doesn't seem all that bad. Did they give any indication on turn around time?

UD.

Well, I ordered the ABEC 7 kit from http://www.superchargerrebuilds.com/ for $410 shipped. If anyone is interested in a DIY with pics, let me know. It's not much cheaper than having Paxton do it, but it saves shipping both ways and it should be a learning experience.
