Default Starting issues...injectors?

Hi all

I am running the stage 2 SOS sc kit, and am experiencing the car being difficult to start up after it's warmed up.

On cold start up (morning after) starts up perfectly fine, so issues. Once I drive her around for a bit, no matter how long, and turn off the ignition and leave it for more than approx 5 mins (if I start it between 0-5mins if turning it off, it turns on smoothly) it takes about 3-4 seconds to fire up.

I am using the FIC 1000's and running e85 (I was having the same issue when I was running pump). My tuner reckons it could be the fuel pressure.

Any thoughts?

Forgive my ignorance, but by prime, do you mean to let it pause for a few seconds while the key is turned to firing her up?

Yes, until you hear them turn back off, then start the car.

You may be able to hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on? At least on mine you can hear it "prime" the system, or bring it up to pressure. If you attempt to start before it is up to pressure (only takes a few seconds) you could have the problem you are experiencing.

Could be cranking fuel trim for hot starts:

Thanks mate, I will try this and update. Wonder why, if it were for this reason, that it starts up fine on a cold start?

Thanks rhouk, everything in that thread sounds about right, except mine fires up eventually. I'll let my tuner know of this one too

Depending on how much more needs to be taken it, it probably will still fire up eventually (mine was not as extreme as others who could not get it to kick over at all).

Tweaking it changed mine from several seconds of cranking (when hot), to <1 second before it started up.

I would recommend to anyone getting tuned to be sure to turn the car completely off on the dyno and have the tuner try to restart it immediately -- sucks to discover the issue after you've left!
