I wouldn't have said anything if the Aussie hadn't said that superchargers only offer up 60% of the performance.
Actually that's not what I said.

Have your coffee then have a think about this:
When you are making a pull you get to redline or somewhere near it and then you change up. When you change up you back off the throttle a bit to match revs before flooring it. So for example you're in second gear at 9000 revs, you change up to third at 6000 revs right?

With a SC at redline you are at peak boost. When you change up and lower your revs you are no longer at peak boost, and therefore no longer at peak horsepower. If your SC setup is a 550whp monster what is it outputting right after the point where you change up?

The OP asked why some guy pulls on him when he changes gears. I'm suggesting this might be the reason.

Arrrrgggghhh.

YOU WILL NOT SPIN THE IMPELLOR BACKWARDS!!!!
that's what I said..read my post before you get all upset, I said it won't spin the impeller backwards, it will cause the air charge to surge though

What you said was:
you won't spin the impeller backwards like you can potentially do on a turbo.
and I said you wont!

okay, so you are speaking specifically to what I said about the turbo, but you also have to agree that although you won't spin it backwards you can significantly cause stresses to the turbo by having it boost against a closed throttle plate.

Absolutely! I'm just opposed to the dumbed down 'spin backwards' misinformation.

this is good info but some of you are being ignoranttt

Its funny for the people that get it...

anyway. This is getting kinda intresting. but I think im gonna just up the boost, run meth, and do a few other things and hopefully be at ~500whp.

BTW its not that hard to get to 500 with a sc setup...
Meth is your friend...

Right okay, so its benefical to run a BOV even with a low PSI CTSC?

Thing is a dont want people to know i have an SC fitted , will it do any damage not running one theoretically what could happen?

Thanks

You have a blow off valve.

The Comptech SC comes with one as standard. It is a Bosch plastic unit and it's output feeds back into the charge pipe.

Most people (and when I say that I mean 'kids') with an SC that want a BOV want it for the sound and buy something with a huge trumpet and vent to atmosphere.

So if you're looking to protect your compressor from surge and dan't want the sound, you already have it!

It is hard to get 500whp supercharged without seriously overspinning the compressor...so you need a bigger snail.

its hard with a comptech kit.
not with a vortech v2 kit.
All you need is 14-15 psi, a good flowing exhaust, meth, custom sideways intake, and a good tune.
