I doubt you will get 500whp from 14-15psi especially if you have the self lube SC. You will need the t-trim model snail otherwise you are pushing the limits of the sc you have. I suggest you read "sideways" thread on how to maximize the vortech. Also, he has the t-trim snail & more boost than you and still not at 500whp unless of course he goes to church.

Bigger chargers are needed and they take more power to run and larger blow off valves (to keep on topic.)

The centrifical kits in the market place today are not pushing the F20c/F22c. They are putting out roughly 800 to 1150 cfm. My T trim is putting out almost 1200 cfm according to Vortech. IMHO the f20c could handle closer to 1400 cfm with the conditions right.

Something like the Vortech V7 Ysi would be able to push to boost closer to 30 psi and move up to 1600 cfm. The power required to turn the unit would be the difference between a big turbo and big supercharger. Probably 100 to 150 rwhp difference in the 700 horsepower range. It would be difficult to keep it running at low speed and the big lump in the hood is a dead give away there is something there. Advantage goes to the turbo.

I wouldn't have said anything if the Aussie hadn't said that superchargers only offer up 60% of the performance.

If we use 550whp as 100% potential power on pump gas (or so). Then .6 * 550whp = 330whp. There have been a couple guys that have made just about 500whp with big superchargers. It's more difficult, no question about it...

Anyway, my post was meant to be good hearted and humorous. I took a couple examples from the past and stereotyped them to all turbo guys...ha ha? I know there are lots of guys pleased with their bolt on turbo setups. I was just fighting back a little. Like I said, we all love the same platform.
Fair enough.

^ well your at 414 now at 11psi and you expect another 86whp with 3.5psi more? I would be surprised but I hope you can! John Z I belive has other mods and a built head?

Anyway, good luck. I look forward to your results

That was uncalled for, the man is asking a question. There is no need to call him names.
Can you explain that comment?

I didn't call anyone names. I simple referred to the idea of 'spinning backwards' as ignorant.

I was attacking the ball, not the player, and 'ignorant' is not an insult it is merely a condition.

The BOV/Recirculating valve (on a supercharger) vents all the unused air (when not under load) versus forcing it into the engine. When air is forced into the engine you will also need fuel to avoid a lean condition.
Oh, now that is ignorant.

When the throttle butterfly is closed no more air can be 'forced into the engine', BOV or not.

Partial throttle. Now you're ignorant.

Where do you think the air would be going if it wasn't being vented out? Do the magic air fairies come and wisk that air away?

FYI, even the the throttle body is closed there is still air entering the engine. How else would it stay running? Point is, Partial throttle.

Maybe it's different in Australia, but around here that's insulting and would get your teeth knocked into your skull.
