Talking Supercharger or Turbo?

I have an ap1 with 14k on it.... i love it but want more power! my goal is 400 to the wheel.... i would just like to knwo your preferences and personal experiences.. i would also like to know what kind of gas milage you get considering the supercharger is running off the crank i would expect a decrease in gas milage but less in a turbo set up??? Let me know what you think and what u prefer.... The turbo set upive been looking at is the inline pro gt35r setup.... So my question basically is what are the pros and con for turbos over superchargers and vice versa

realistically the only cons with the turbo kit will be the spool up time and that it's not going to give you full boost down low. it will ultimately provdie you with more power than the supercharger kits will. I think you'd be able to hit 400whp with the SOT supercharger kit on high boost and some other supporting mods. that would be pretty sick since you would have all the power on tap whenever you want it personally I'm planning on getting full-race's turbo kit so I can run 500whp

Oh no, not this thread again!! A search should bring up multiple threads discussing this.

Basically to get 400 whp you need to go turbo. About every SC would be straining a lot to get that much power out of them, but they are out there.

If I were you I would get the inline pro kit and the Gt30r, not the Gt35r. The 30 will get you to over 400 whp easy with supporting mods, and it will spool a lot faster than the 35.

Just do a lot of research before you buy, so you know what you are getting and what is available ou there.

Good luck

I am biased....but i would def go turbo.

with turbo you are not near as limited as you are with a SC....I know Sideways on here has like a super beast SC but that is very rare. turbo always has the option to upgrade easier

Turbo for sure. I would use the Full Race 30R kit, should get you 500whp with a good tuner. If you want to spend a bit less and dont care about the tubular manifold, get an Inline Pro kit. Either kit is good, and if you want more power, turbo kits are more easily upgraded!

As many have already said, search search search. A good idea would be to look and compare dyno graphs. If you look at the SC ones from 400whp you'll notice that most are not making even half of their power until they are past 5k rpm. Just something to consider. Also, it may be a good idea not to fall in love with a hp number. You may find out driving a turbo'd 375whp-ish is plenty for you. Believe me, 350whp on the street is P L E N T Y on a reasonable light rwd car.

I wouldn't really call 1k RPMS "spooling much faster"

OK, you're right, it will spool somewhat faster, but the 30r will be plenty for his power goal.

Please don't smack me down like you did to the guy who thought he knew what torque was
