Supercharger or Turbo?

OK, you're right, it will spool somewhat faster, but the 30r will be plenty for his power goal.
Please don't smack me down like you did to the guy who thought he knew what torque was

I think that more than HP you should state how much money you are willing to drop. As awesome as a full race kit may be it isn't complete.
You still need to figure out fueling and engine management. Not only that, you need to either relocate the stock battery or buy a smaller one. Its a lot more work than it may seem.
Personally i dont like superchargers. They are too loud all the time. Its kind of annoying. But as far as i know you can get a solid 300 wheel reliably. Although the same goes for the Greddy kit. I don't know anything about it but i'm sure its plenty reliable and will make good power. But not 400. Sorry.
The first logical step when deciding you want more power isn't to set a goal for yourself. Set a budget first. Then you can decide what to spend your money on. As much fun as a 400 hp car may be, remember that your stock drive train may not feel the same way. Replacing clutches isn't fun or cheap.
As far as gas mileage it should remain close to stock as long as the engine isn't under enough load where it produces any positive pressure. (like highway driving)
In any case the tune can make or break your power goals. Find a god tuner and you'll make strong power no matter what choice you make as far as FI. It's been said time and time again but far to many people don't listen.
Good luck!

Basically to get 400 whp you need to go turbo. About every SC would be straining a lot to get that much power out of them, but they are out there.
When you are standing on the sideline, you may think 400 HP is enough to boost your ass around. So, SC may be a good option to your objective.
Until you stand side by side with 350ZTT, Z06 and the gangs, you will regret of spending on SC and will start all over again to build your turbo kitchen.

I should have added a little smiley at the end of my sentence; no harm no foul

I am just a lowely Greddy guy
. Hey, but I did do the install myself! And yes, the Greddy has proven to be very reliable so far. But you will never get within 80 whp of 400 with it.
I think you get get close to 350+ with the basic in-line kit or and a bit more with the full race stage 2 kit. The SC will also get you around the 300-340hp range. At 400hp you need to start going outside the basic kits and upgrade other stuff on the car.
If you're in a nazi state like California, you may want to get a supercharger because at least you can still mod it, but have a carb legal sticker for any troubles. I know a carb legal sticker isn't an automatic fix or pass, but it helps a lot.
