You see what some poeple fail to realize is that just because you are breaking stock transmissions on the street doesnt mean its a damn track car. It simply means that the transmission is weak...PERIOD. We can't have fun on the street with 600-700whp? These Supras, Mustangs, and GTRs have all kinds of fun on the streets with that amount of power, but they are equipped with a strong trans from the factory.

Just because the V160 has a value of $5000 alone means jack shit. The solution is to put in a transmission that doesn't break as easily so you can have fun with much more power AND be able to track it without having to explode it. Since when do we put a value on a modification and then say..."oh, its probably a track car now"....thats ignorant.

Does the tunnel have to be hammered to make the v160 fit?

well my setup is a little more custom. apparently, i didn't clearance the bell housing for the starter. it needed more clearance than the f20/f22 and could not see that underneath the car. (guess it would have helped if i would have test fitted with the starter on, on the mockup block i have.)

k24 / v160 / 8.8

now that i'm spent on the drivetrain, i'm going to have to wait for boost lol.

Nice setup! What 8.8 kit are you using?

full blown motorsports' kit with a thunderbird 8.8 housing. i've seen a cobra housing (that was modded to work) break. tbird = steel, cobra = aluminum

i opted for 4.56 gears since i didn't know how long i was going to be down for without boost. glad i did since the oil and gas industry is weak right now.
