Default Troubles with revhard manifold

Just seeing if anyone else is having troubles with the revhard log manifold and cooking the inserts of the motor mount that it's right beside.

Also, if you're having troubles with this, are you also cooking your battery and killing its life span?

I've gone through 3 motor mounts and a couple of batteries with this manifold and I haven't driven the car for THAT long, like under a year's worth of driving.

Are you shielding the mount/battery?

There has been no shielding so I'll be doing that sooner than later when I get the car back. Haven't read too much about this being a problem so it didn't even occur to me that this might happen and that's why I I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this problem.

I use to have the rev hard log manifold years ago and yes the turbine housing does sit right on top of the motor mount. I made a heat shield for the battery and I never had a problem with that but the turbo is way to close to the oem motor mount to have a heat shield made. The oem mount usually lasted me about a year or 2 and need to be changed every 10-15 thousand miles. What every you do don't get aftermarket poly mount like hasports. They cannot take heat and will melt with in less than 1,000 miles. The oem mount will last way longer.

Also I'm sure people have told you thins but the log manifold is costing you lot of power. I made 70whp more going from the rev hard log to a tubular manifold on straight 91 octane with no other changes.

Here is a pic of my old rev hard manifold with the battery heat shield.

Haha so funny that you mention the hasport! After the first OEM motor crapped out after about a year of being turbocharged, I replaced it with another brand new OEM one and that burnt out well under a year so my tuners threw in a hasport one just recently and we just discovered that it completely cooked the inserts in it just like you mentioned and this was just from dyno tuning time! Last week, they made an aluminum insert for it so it won't melt but it looks like I'll be experiencing more vibration because of it but until I ditch the manifold, I'll have to deal with it. As soon as they replaced it, the battery died out and the car wouldn't start and he was suggesting it was because of all the heat from the turbo and manifold so now I have to make a heat shield for a new battery I'm throwing in.

Actually, my mistake. The second OEM motor mount was replaced because the old turbo was replaced with a Borg Warner and it ended up hitting the OEM mount so we had to get the hasport because it was lower profile and would allow the turbo to fit in. I have to double check if it was toast or not but like you said, it probably didn't have much longer.
