Ok so no one in my area has a sandblaster. A local engine shop said that a bead blaster would work as a substitute. Any truth to this?

Sure, I prefer bead-blasting over SB anyway.

5w30 is not recommended. The manual clearly states 10w30. There are some guys who run 5w40 without issue. I'd recommend 10w30 Castrol Edge fully synthetic I've had a good experience with it and it's an on shelf oil unlike Amsoil. I'd prefer Amsoil but don't like the price/availability.
Ok I will try that. This is my first time changing oil on this car tho, and it uses a compact oil filter because of clearence issues. Anyone know what I would need to use?

Yeah it will be fine. The idea is to make it rougher so it doesn't slide out as easily.

I think you mean the purpose is for it to slide out...If the worm gear didn't slide out (extend) it would never tighten the slack in the chain...

Ok.... Well today was a huge failure. I got the two screws off of the tct. Went to "twist and pull", it doesn't budge. I found a pry point above the screw closest to the firewall. A light effort does not make it budge. When I went to put the bolts back in they will not thread... I know its because the tct moved just enough where the holes don't line up with the block. Some help would be great. And I took this pic from the diy thread (mods this is for help not taking credit for someone else's work)

Could I possibly use the maintenance hole to get it out?

Well assuming you did take the 2 bolts that hold the TCT to the head and not the 2 bolts holding the cover on, just wiggle it back and forth and get a small flat head screwdriver between the tct and the head. It will pop out there is nothing holding it besides 2 large o rings that seal it.
