TCT or Scuffed Bore?
Sounds like a bad tensioner to me.
There is no TSB over timing chain tensioners, and no need to remove the valve cover to replace it.
Remove the 2 bolts on the tensioner and pull it out of the head. Remove the access plug on the front of the head to pull the retaining pin on the new tensioner. bolt up the new tensioner and pull the pin. It takes longer to type than to do.

There's really no need to use a pin. Keep the bolt in and take it out once it's installed. Then reinsert the little bolt the oil flows through, put the cap on and your done. The access hole can be a pain depending on what intake you have one or SC/TC sitting there.
A new tensioner comes with a pin already installed. I'm not taking off the end plate to find a 5x.80 bolt and nut to hold the tensioner compressed when the pin is already doing it.
Especially on a Greddy equipped turbo car that has a unobstructed view of the access plug.
Unless the car has a Vortech/Comptech/ SOS SC the pin is getting pulled.

As mentioned earlier, just disassemble, sandblast the worm gear and re install the same one. A new one is a complete waste of money. Billman can do this as I think he was the one who came up with this fix if I remember correctly.
I replaced a noisy one with a brand new one and the noise came back after only 3K miles. I then took the original one apart and sandblasted the worm gear and have been driving on it with zero noise for over 7 plus K miles with zero problems!
I also suggest you run a better oil like redline, amsoil, motul... All my problems came with crappy Mobil 1 and ever since the reinstall I have ran redline with no re occurances of tensioner noise.
