Default Temp Supercharger removal?

Ok, this is a quick one. In between the time that the vortech piggyback and VAFC have been removed, but before the AEM can be installed/tuned, the car has no fuel management, and is basically stock, with a vortech. can i just move the aftercooler aside and put the stock intake on to drive it to the tuner?

i'd much rather not push any boost at all, rather than just "trying to keep the boost low" like ive been told. so the question boils down to will it damage the engine or supercharger to not have the aftercooler pumping air into the engine. it would seem that it would be like a leaf blower under the hood.

I doubt that you will get much problem with the blower pushing air into the atmosphere. It's contraindicated with a turbo system but the sc doesn't generate that much boost.

It's best and more convenient to leave the supercharger and intercooler alone and just disconnect the belt

i dont think it would be a bad thing to have the air blowing around, what i was asking is would having 0 backpressure on the impeller hurt anything?

and taking off the belt is about 30 more steps than putting the stock intake back on.

I would leave everything alone. No need to go through all that. As long as you are not going into partial/WOT throttle you will be fine. Just keep the throttle light on the way to the tuner and drive normal, and the engine won't see any boost.

You are going way overboard on this. Leave it hooked up and just don't go above 4000 rpm and keep it to 1/2 throttle or less and you can drive it to the tuner just fine.

Ok, well i'd rather be overly cautios than find out how hard it is to swap engines, but kM is sure that it will work the way it is, so im letting him make that decision, lol.
