flashpro is under 700. Not expensive compared to other things.

Yea to mod domestics its pretty damn easy and cheap. I was debating a mustang 5.0 for my next car but im tired of car payments and though new cars are nice I find myself way interested in older cars

Better Knock control than the AEM but still nearly worthless
As of right now Kpro has absolutely NO knock control. You get knock count and can see knock voltage, but the tables are not adjustable like they are in Flashpro. I've had conversations with Doug on the Hondata board and he's set to reveal the knock tables in an upcoming release. But until then, if your knock sensor hears something, ghost knock or not, it registers as a knock. And don't get me started on the timing aspect of of it.

If you'd like to read up on it, here's the link: http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11952

aem knock control does know which cylinder is knocking.. assuming you set it up that way.

log the parameter knock tooth.. it will give you the crank tooth where it detected the knock.

It's still my stance that for a street car, once any of these systems is tuned properly the end user wont be able to tell the difference.

most aem problems are the result of user error or craptastic wiring jobs or other problems with the car. I have seen my fair share of hardware issues with haltech as well, at that price point its a toss up really.

... hondata.. well I dont touch hondata, ever.. hondata has cost me more money in wasted dyno time than anything.

Wow, great input everyone, it is really nice to see people posting with real experience.

You get knock count and can see knock voltage, but the tables are not adjustable like they are in Flashpro.
Yeah, I have been told this will be realeased for the KPRO also. Hopefully we will see this soon.

Haltech is rock solid reliable. The software works. When I mean works if there is a feature there, its tested and works like it should.
Very nice to hear, I am interested in trying one of these in the future.

How much do the domestic solutions cost? Most of them are flashable/tunable from the factory, right? Like the 06+?
Most of the kits like EFILive and HPTuners are only around $650 but the user ajustablitlity is 10 fold what is availible in the FlashPro. Equalilly important is ability to take in multiple wideband signals or sensors........Really there is no compairison to the domestics.

Since I have been looking at upgrade parts for the Mustang I can't beleive how much less everything is.
Yep, and don't forget about the quality, very few companies that make parts for the S2000 can hold a candle to many of the domestics.

EFI Technology produces some really good stuff used in many different race teams. Mugen, Real-Time Racing (I remember they used it in their WC NSX), ect. have all used EFI Technology. Prices range from $1500 for their basic EMS to $9500 for a full package to include full data acquisition systems with telemetry and everything else. Take a look!

I've tuned all the options mentioned. They all work and work great. As far as the AEM's knock control. Just like Jay at RSP and many other reputable tuners I spend a lot of time on setting up the knock control correctly. It has saved some of our customer's. In the end it comes down to how well the setup is put together (parts used, installation, wiring, etc) and the tuner.

Couldn't have said it better
