Things to do while doing HG install
I am planning get a turbo kit and also want to do a headgasket before hand. Was wondering if there was anything I should do while having the head off. Don't know much about internal stuff but maybe theres a way to like clean the tops of the pistons or something else. Could I replace just the valves? Would there be any benefit in that or should I just do the whole head?
I'm not looking to spend $2,000 and get a Alaniz head or anything like that, but I'm sure there are a few small things that could be done once the head is off anyway.
I've been boosted with SC for about 40k miles.

You could upgrade the valvetrain to the SuperTech valvetrain.
If yo udon't want to spend a ton of money, but having the head off is no small ordeal, go ahead and purchase the above mentioned steup and have a machine shop install it for you and check the head for straightness and plane it flat/ prep it for reinstall.
wd-40 and a rag should clean the pistons, its what I did. I also used a light brush and brushed them clean of some of the carbon buildup. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANYTHING INTO THE CYLINDERS i.e. wire particles or anything. you want to keep that stuff our of there.
