S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Thinking of spinning the vortech blower to 15 psi.

Ok, got mine done. I bought a long radiator hose and a small filter from Pep Boys. It all fit together perfectly for what I wanted to do. Now I can't hear the valve opening at all, and the car sounds much quieter. I took some pics for your amusement.

Here you can see that I used a shorter length of hose to position the diverter valve, and the longer hose (lying atop the radiator) will route the filter down under the fender.

I was thinking about doing this to lower IAT's and now would be a good time since I start Etuning tomorrow..
Do you have to use a filter on the diverter valve? Was that just to muffle the sound more, or to keep unfiltered air from being sucked back in?
Can you just leave it open like a normal BOV?

I wouldnt think non filtered would be a problem as mine is un filtered and that thing is all ways blowing...but thats at 19psi

I did it to muffle the sound. I'd assume there would always be higher pressure inside the aftercooler than under the fender in that location, so there should not be a situation where you'd be taking air in through the valve. (Note that I said "assume".)

did you have to re tune after doing this?
not to take advantage of lower IAT's but because dumping to atmosphere messed with your A/F ratio

I did re-tune after this, but only because of the timing - we made the change to vent to atmosphere just before my tune appointment.

This shouldn't matter when in boost right? Because the valve should be closed. At idle or cruise or after letting off the gas, I guess it could change the amount of air in the system compared to having it recirculated. If anything it would drop pressure faster, which is probably a good thing when you shift but might not match the tune.

Installed the 3.2" pulley last night. Going to try to put a couple hundred miles on it to stretch out the belt before my tune Friday. This time I expect to get the BLV working.

Can't wait. So the plan is to bleed off above 12?

Def want to see how it works out.

What happened with your 340 whp only at 14 psi? Was something messed up during last tune?

Bleeding off above 14 since I'm already at 14 and love it.

My last tune was on a notoriously low reading dyno. Car's running great and pulls like crazy. After this one's done (same tuner, same dyno) I'm going to find the highest reading dyno in Atlanta and do a pull so I can claim bigger numbers.

I'll go ahead and give my non-professional thoughts on the product. Considering my Novi 1000 Supercharger, this boost limiter would work exceptionally well with low boost applications. Install a 14 psi pulley, set the "wastegate" (sorta what this is except your bleeding off pressure and not excessive exhaust gases.) to 5.5-7psi. Experience a much meatier midrange. It would be nice to have 6-7 psi at 5,000 rpms all the way to the top. But I don't see the benefit on higher boost applications cause if you run a pulley smaller than 3 inches, doesn't belt slippage become a problem as well as overspinning the compressor wheel and shortening the life of the bearings?

I guess replaceing the compressor wheel and polishing the compressor housing would make the blower do better...

If I wanted a meatier powerband this badly, I would assume just run a nice ball bearing turbo kit. I don't know what size you guys use on 2.0 or 2.2, but the GT2860RS and 3071R's were pretty sweet on the Miatas.' Great spoolup and lots of headroom.
