Default Those of You With Illegal Turbo's

I live in Cali (OC) and was thinking about waiting for the CARB legal Greddy Turbo to come out, but the InlinePro just seems so much more powerful, so...
Those of you with the InlinePro (or any other non-legal turbos) how do you get away with it, do you take it off every smog check you have, how much does that cost??? Need some advice, should I get the InlinePro if I live in Cali, how much trouble could it be

Most that I know have newer cars (i.e. 04 or 05) that were purchased new, so they don't have to worry about smog until 2010 or 2011.

I'm in the same boat as you (2002 due for first smog in 2008 and then every 2 years) and am leaning towards Vortech SC with small pulley. Will get me a CARB # and I would just swap out pulley and exhaust every few years.

I think the best way to accomplish this is to make a new friend who can pass your car. Plain and simple, but its up to you.

I'm in the same situation!

Another question: If you get pulled over, could a cop tell you to pop your hood and bust you on that? Or is basically the only thing you have to worry about (as far as not being CARB legal) the smog test?

Probably full price on the install + some extra to uninstall it.

Unless you are good friends without someone, 1k+ easily

Its much cheaper and easier to find someone to pass you. Give him 200 bucks to persuade him and call it a day.

Yes CA cops can and WILL do that if they suspect it. Also CA is one of the few states where if you tell the officer they cannot search your engine bay, they WILL impound your car.

CA sucks as far as their traffic enforcement goes

Here in Missouri all you need is another appartment (or storage shed) in a county that does not test for smog. You license the car in that county and bingo no need for a smog test. I don't know if you can do that in CA, but I just wanted to throw it out there. I have rental housing in a college town, but live in STL and they can't do a thing about it.
