tons of oil pouring out of turbo
ok, got turbo from fedex yesterday, went to the car, clubef9 and i (mostly him) put on the turbo and a new return line system, bolted/clamped everything back together, added some oil (about 3 quarts came out when he took the old return line out of the pan), put the oil cap back on, and it broke in half
borrowed the oil cap from his car, went to start the car, battery was too low to crank
hooked up battery cables jump started the car, FINALLY! LIFE!
car started, sounds good, this is the first time i had heard it with the wastegate and dump tube hooked up, i lost a clamp before i had it taken to the tuner's
let it idle, no smoke, this is the first time that it hasn't smoked
all in all, it idled for about 30 minutes yesterday, the tuner said he can squeeze the car in tomorrow if i get it there before 9 am tomorrow morning, so i will go bolt the fenders and bumper back up, and take it to him
so it seems now that the problem was the oil return section, i tried to cut the line in half to look at the ID, but it had a solid metal layer, and the clippers i had in the tool box couldn't cut through it
is there anything else i should do to make sure there are no problems before dropping it off? we did notice that some exhaust was leaking from the downpipe-to-turbo connection, tightened up the v-band clamp, and that stopped, no other exhaust leaks that we could find
