Default Turbo A/F - Partial Throttle Setting.

Hey guys, just want to make sure my turbo in partial throtte is running efficiently to preserve some Gas.. IN regards to tunning by the way, we are about 60% complete but he said the partial throttle should be good to go.. Just need WOT.

This is what I noted so far.

Turbo gt30 with AEM EMS, 10.5psi.

Crank when cold, takes about 5-8 cranks(2-4 seconds).

When it turns on, goes to 14.8 and then sometimes drops to 13 until i start driving.

When I start to drive, the range is from 13.8-14.5 going through the gears. Let off the pedal, it goes lean all the way past 17 until I start the hitting the pedal again.

When Im crusing, around 14-14.5 depending on my throttle.

Notcied today crusing at 70, on 6th gear, its dropping to 13.2. Now i dont have a boost gauge but can it be that its hitting boost at around 4k rmp causing the aem to have it drop?

Same thing with crusing at 58, went down to 13.2 when in 3rd gear around 3800 rpm but crusing.

Crusing through gears before aroudn 3500-4000, fluctuates between 13.8 - 14.5

when crusing and then goes to neutral to stop at a light, it will go lean at first and then drop to around 12.5. Eventually it starts to climb up to around 14-14.5 but takes around 7-10 seconds.

Now comparing the stock ecu to the aem, is there a way to program a number on the aem, like with stock lets say 14.7 when crusing, and it always try to achieve that? Stock used to go from 14.7 to 15.3 and then 14.7 to 15.2, etc.

Can I run lean, around 15-15.5 when crusing with the turbo or can this cause harm?

On a side note,
After reading some precautions some people did when upgrading their turbo, I decided to order the intake valve retainers for replacement. Heard the ap2 are much stronger than the ap1's I have.

yes, you can have closed loop feedback enabled tp target your desired AFR. What you have so far is good, just have your tuner clean up the areas you think are overly rich

Great to hear.. So 15 crusing is a bit high?

Wot he said he would put around 11.8-12

Also regarding the retainers, think it's worth it? How long does it take to do?

I cruise closer to 15:1 or 16:1.
