I was reading through some threads today and Ive compiled a list of turbos worth looking at. So im looking at making 550whp at NO MORE than 20 lbs on pump gas. This is only a rough estimate.

All in T4 / .82AR
6057
6062
6162
6262

Please list a reason of why you would or would not run these turbos. Ive read some great things on the 6057 so far, im thinking the 6162 is right in the middle of what im looking for and the 6262 may be too big for what i want. I dont need a turbo that can make 750-800whp lol.

The T4 housing options I would use are the .81 or .96, and for your power goal I would definitely use the .81 a/r.

The 67mm compressor paired with the 62mm turbine is an interesting idea, but there are a few things that can/will happen. The turbine is too small and is easily overpowered by the big compressor, and you dont have anywhere for all the extra airflow to go. It cant all be routed out the wastegate, because you will lose compressor speed, and that will drop the power.

Turbo shaft speeds could also be too high, which can cause catastrophic failure in no time. The 65mm turbine will flow enough and not need to be run at such high shaft speeds to keep up with the compressor.

I would definitely use the 6262 for your power goal, otherwise the 6062. The 6262 wont spool much slower than the 6162 if any, and it has the potential for more power on. The better compressor also will allow for lower intake temps, making your power goal on pump gas that much easier. You might be able to pull it off with the 6057, but it would depend on the skill of the tuner.

I don't think I'd be a fan of using an undivided T4 housing on a 2.2L motor that is sub 800whp, lol.

Way OVERKILL IMHO.

There are other sidewinders out there that are T3 flanged.

This is actually something I have been talking about at work for a couple months now. If you consider what the 62 backside spools at and what the 67 compressor side will support whp-wise, you would have a bad somabitch. Ive been meaning to call Precision for some time now to get their take on producing such a wheel but it never fails to slip my mind . Im sure if there was enough interest for it they would eventually make one. The possibility of them making one is somewhat holding me back from dropping the coin on a 6765. Ill put that phone call on my to do list tomorrow
Go back a few posts and look what I wrote. This was tested by AMS and the 62 back housing on the 67 didnt help at all.

You can see in the dyno graph that the full spool up between the 6762 and the 6765 are the same but the 6765 has a little more power at the top end.

How about this gayness... but may be my best bet. The T3-T4 adapter from Ebay $50. They add about 2.5" of height but hell, I dont care. The T4 turbo is whats fkn me.

With standard placement of the turbo w/out the adapter, how much clearance do you guys think there is between the turbo and hood? I think the 2.5" adapter might put the turbo too high.

The good thing is that I have someone making me all custom dp and chargepiping for free. So i guess my only concern is clearance from the hood and turbo.

The GT35R is available with an undivided T4 housing. The RX7 guys have been using it that way for years.
