Default Turbo setup advice

Hey guys i just picked up a Revhard cast manifold, 5bolt downpipe and some intercooler piping. Im shooting for around 280-300whp and would like to keep my cruise control(AEM EMS is out).

1)Would a T3/T4 be okay for 300whp?
2)At 7psi making 280-300 what size injectors would i need?
3)Would the stock fuel pump be enough?
4)E-manage Blue enough for smooth idling and tuning or should i get Ultimate.

Im trying to keep this as cheap as possible but using quality parts.(besides the intercooler + piping)

I have never had a turbo car(installed a JRSC on my B16a Civic..), but im pretty good with honda motor swaps and installing parts.

Sell what you have and pick up a greddy system which will take out all the headaches later down the road. It will make the power numbers you're looking for and comes complete.

i dont want to spend that much money...trust me thats what i wanted to do, but theres alot about that kit that i dont like(mainly the internal wastegate). If i got the greddy kit i would just end up switching alot of stuff out and spending even more money. Better to build it how i want it the first time.

For your hp goal greddy is perfect. Internal wastegate at 300hp level is not a problem at all.
In a matter of fact, you'll end up spending more money trying to piece the kit together yourself (small thing add up). Also take into the account the time you spend on it.

I have a Greddy kit and it's perfect for me! ..... But I warning you ahead of time...you won't be able to extract more than 300-325hp out of the Greddy kit without some modifications.

thanks for your opinions guys but id really just like to know the questions i asked...trust me, i wish i could just throw down the money for a bolt on kit but i dont have the self control or credit to get that much money together at once lol

Ill save up $800 or so and end up spending it on brakes or some other sh*t...i gotta do it piece by piece. Plus i want to build my own kit just to feel more involved and learn about how it all works together and if it breaks, ill know what to do since i made it.

Im mainly concerned if a T3/T4 is enough for an S2000 revving to 9k rpms.

it will end up alot cheaper than the greddy kit since i plan to buy everything i can used, im in no hurry and dont have a problem waiting for a good deal. Thats how i got the manifold/downpipe/piping

T3/T4 will be plenty for your power goals. Basically any decent turbo that is popular on these forums will make at least that amount. Good luck!

Something like the Inline, Full Race, MASE or Ultimate racing is probably what you want but may be much more than you bargined for.

You are not to far from me and I am installing my Inline kit now. Feel free to stop by and I can show some of the things you will have a hard time finding here. I can have G352s2K stop by with the new Greddy kit he just installed. Just shoot me a PM and I will send my phone number.

I think the reason everyone is telling you to get the Greddy kit is because you are only looking at it from a materials aspect. Unless you work at a FULL mechanics shop you are going to shell out a TON OF MONEY to get parts fabricated to fit correctly.

Fabricating is just plain expensive, period. You'll need to mandrel bend tubing, probably several times before you get a fit that works. Tons of welding, you'll probably go through 3-4 times the amount of piping than you actually use.

On average most people probably spend $3,000+ over what it would cost just to buy a pre-made kit to make their own unless they are a fabricator by trade.

Do you have something that can do mandrel bends? Are you a REALLY GOOD welder? If not, just save up and buy a greddy.

Before you get all grumpy, I'm just telling you this because your stated goal is to save money. If you came in and said "I want to do just because I can" I wouldn't say crapola.

If you cant afford the GREDDY KIT, you simply wont be able to piece together a similar kit for lower............., Just save the money and do it right.

Yah, things add up fast, unless you got hookups. Even if you buy it all used piece by piece, you will probably wait over a year.

Ill just do a quick rundown of what u need:
1. T3/t4 turbo, buy brand name and not knockoff or something, otherwise you can end up with a blown motor - cheapest ive seen 425 used

2. Wastegate - at least 150

3. Some sort of dumptube, i guess around 100 ( Never seen just a dumptube used)

4. Injectors + clips - at least 200

5. Intercooler - if you go ebay - 400 ( Beware of anything ebay brand, i hear the intercooler pipes break a lot)

6. Emanage + Harness - 500

7. You would definatly need a new fuel pump - 90ish

8 . Oil feed and return lines + fitting - 150ish

9. Couplers and clamps - 100

10. Various bolts (not counting stage 8) - 50

Total = 2165

All of this is just around what i have seen things going for. Im sure you can find a cheap used greddy kit for that plus what u bought the mani and stuff for. If its the one cracked revhard manifold that i saw for sale ( Not sure so please correct me), then that can lead to other problems as well. Also you have to factor in labor to get things to fit right. If i missed something please feel free to correct
