you seem to forget we are not talking about Roots style blowers which are often found in OEM applications. We are talking about Centrifugal style blowers.
OEM uses Roots style for instant tq at low rpm. I can't think of any mainstream manufacturer using Centrifugal style superchargers. (aside from exotic supercars)
I'd gamble that the switch from roots to turbo as seen with Mini etc, is more so due to emissions than anything else. So using OEM manufactures choices for boost is a mute point.
Centrifugal style superchargers are usually never offered from OEM because givin the power levels for 'safe mass market' a Centrifugal style blower would be pretty much worthless and un-noticable. (take the Scion TC's TRD s/c as an example)

I may be up for an auto-x. After seeing whats involved in installing a roll bar I will not be installing one. Also I'm not about numbers, I'm about the driving experience/feel. I've been in turbo this, sc that... while all fun for sure... I'm perfectly fine with my 210 fire breathing whp for my driving style.

Daily driving - it's great. If I'm just cruising I get comparable gas mileage to stock (around 30mpg). It's a lot of fun to roll on the throttle to get around cars quickly on the highway. No downshifting necessary and no drama from the car. It feels very smooth and adds to the driving experience on the street.
On track - During the posted track video I had driven the car only a handful of times on the street as the whole build was just being finished. Initially I was a bit apprehensive of all the new found power. Each session I worked into it a bit more and by the end of the weekend (that video) I was pushing the car fairly hard. The car still has more in the straights, the nut behind the wheel still needs to be tightened up a bit more. It was really nice when passing someone on track to just roll on the throttle a little harder and swing right around them.
During tight corners and corner exit the car felt very predictable and smooth. No unexpected surge in power and power was easily controlled via right foot. Check the PTuning thread for my dyno. The graph is not a bell curve, it's a linear climb start to finish.
If you have a properly set up turbo kit there is no reason it should surge and feel unpredictable on track.








I'm srsly taking a look at the SOS groupbuy. If I go for it I'm going for 500whp.
